The Koziakas Trail race is included in the ITRA ranking

The Koziakas Trail race is included in the ITRA ranking.

According to ITRA, the race elevation gain is 1557 meters (their system used is TRACE DE TRAIL). As organizers, we submitted two separate appeals, which were ultimately not considered.

Our own measurements, conducted using four different GPS devices – including three watches (Garmin, Suunto) and a Garmin GPSmap 64s – show an elevation gain ranging from 1660 to 1710 meters. After analyzing the data and mapping all GPS information, we believe that ITRA does not take into account the specific terrain of the area, which features numerous small ups and downs that are ultimately overlooked in the calculation of the course’s total elevation gain.

We have decided to retain the 1700 meters elevation gain that was declared for the race from the beginning. Our appeals, as well as ITRA’s response, are available for anyone who wishes to review or share them.
