Koziakas Trail Running
Koziakas Trail
A race on the trails of Koziakas, dedicated to the conservation of Asproparis (Egyptian Vulture), with routes of 9km and 25km, as well as a one-kilometer route within the village for our young athletes.
The Koziakas Trail race is aimed at all mountain and trail running enthusiasts, as well as middle-distance athletes who want to experience the beautiful landscapes and trails of Koziakas, the mountain of Asclepius.
The success of the race largely depends on the participation of volunteers. Volunteers staff the race stations, assist in setting up the base, and help clean and mark the trails before the race. We would be delighted for you to sign up and experience the Koziakas Trail. Volunteers are provided with T-shirts, souvenirs, and discounts on accommodation and meals in the area. If you want to become a volunteer, you can contact us at 6976 256 798 or 6977 717 986.
Asproparis (Neophron percnopterus) is the smallest of the four vulture species found in Greece and Europe. In the Balkans, the Egyptian Vulture survives only in Greece, Bulgaria, Albania, and North Macedonia (with a population of around 70 pairs in total), and it has disappeared from the rest of the Balkan countries.
