Events for young and old – May 11, 2025

On Sunday, May 11, 2025, the KOZIAKAS TRAIL mountain running race will be organized again this year.

In addition to the routes on the Koziakas trails, the race is dedicated to the rescue of the Griffon Vulture, the rare vulture that nests on the rocky slopes.

On the occasion of the race and World Migratory Bird Day, which this year coincides with Saturday, May 10, the Municipality of Pyli (ATTOA), the Hellenic Ornithological Society and the Meteora Geopark Pyli, which support the implementation of the race, are organizing on the same day from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the finish area of ​​the race at the Prophet Elias Park in Elati a series of events for young and old.

Participants will be able to play, explore and learn about the protection of the Egyptian Vulture, the protection of the natural environment, the geological formations, the habitats, the wild flora and fauna of the area.

The activities that have been supervised by the A.T.T.O.A. employee, Ms. Makrygianni Eleni, include:

  • treasure hunt
  • “Survivor” type game
  • memory game
  • creations with materials from nature andmemory game
  • relaxation & stretching exercises for the young athletes who will have previously participated in the race.

Participation will be free for everyone.
